Grew up in the 60s.  I remember having measles and that glorious full week of staying home from school, which I hated so much.  I hated school, so I was all like those Brady kids all smiles enjoying my vacation.

I felt a little crappy, but that was it.  Same with chicken pox and mumps too.  Only had the mumps on one side, and I think I was in the 4th or 5th grade.

Another thing I remember is before first grade, we all had to get those smallpox vaccines. I also hated that fugly scar on my arm.  I remember not feeling so well after that, and shortly after that chickenpox and measles made their debut.  So I thought that chickenpox and measles were really a side effect of the smallpox vaccine.  And I still think that is the cause for our measles and chickenpox.  For those of our age anyway.
